Explorers’ cycle tour in the Quellenviertel – tips for true explorers

For anyone who’d rather discover little-known gems whilst travelling than just cover the distance.

The best stories are rarely written on the main road. Rather, they’re found where a view suddenly comes into view, a hidden outdoor café appears, or somewhere between the hills and riverbeds a little bench invites you to linger.

The exploratory cycle tour through the Quellenviertel is just such a tour. Not overly polished. Not ‘polished-to-perfection’. But authentic. With little places full of character, regional specialities and spots you don’t plan – but simply stumble upon.

Sometimes the route takes you past old pubs, sometimes through peaceful stretches of countryside where there’s not much going on apart from birdsong. And that’s exactly what makes it special. If you stay curious, you’ll discover more than just lovely paths along the way: namely stories, people and a neighbourhood with plenty of heart.

Walcher- und Färbergraben in Braunau am Inn: a picturesque old town with colourful, multi-storey buildings stretching along a river. Mountains loom in the distance, forming an idyllic backdrop. You can see a train crossing the railway bridge
