My very dear Father, Dearest Papa!
On this evening, Fritz Karl and his son Aaron Karl read from the letters between Father Leopold and Son Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. An extensive correspondence provides insight into both the cultural life and the spiritual life of the Mozart family. In his letters, Mozart almost always addresses his father as “My Dearest Papa” - “Mon très cher père” - and presents himself as the “most obedient son”.
The historically resonant interludes and dialogues were specially created for this program by the two renowned dramaturges Dr. Felicitas Wolf and Dr. Michaela Wolf.
The evening is musically framed by the string quartet Sonare with early compositions by Leopold Mozart, his models Joseph Haydn or C.P.E. Bach, the best from the quartets of W.A. Mozart, as well as from his Requiem in the version by Peter Lichtenthal from the year 1828 and other arrangements of works by the musical genius.
