The Galerie Schloss Parz presents two outstanding positions in contemporary art with SIEGFRIED ANZINGER and CHRISTIAN ROTHWANGL in an exciting joint exhibition. This encounter of two generations of artists impressively showcases the range and methodological development of artistic practice between painting and sculpture.

Siegfried Anzinger (“from the countryside”), co-founder of the “Neue Wilden” and recipient of the Great Austrian State Prize, shapes art history through his enormous spontaneity and the conscious allowance of the unfinished. His characteristic work with glue colors gives the paintings a fascinating depth and velvety texture through fine, glazing layers. The exhibition is complemented by his expressive figures made of terracotta, which skillfully translate this dynamism into space. In an exciting dialogue with this stands the work of Christian Rothwangl (“Dressed as a bear”), who represents a young, innovative understanding of the medium. He transforms intimate ink drawings onto canvas in a poetic process, thus creating complex visual worlds that break with traditional viewing habits.
