Description: The special exhibition "REBELS! The Black Peasants of Weiberau – Their Motives and Fates in the Upper Austrian Peasant War" as part of the communale oö 2026 runs until October 26, 2026.

The Hague Home Museum is located in the picturesque Starhemberg Castle above Haag am Hausruck.

Exhibited are old views of castles and palaces of the region, rural life of farmers around 1900 and peasant living conditions at that time, work tools of extinct craft professions, as well as the history of the area.

Another focus is on the artists born in Haag, Herbert Bayer (Bauhaus artist - Haag a. H.), Karel Klostermann (poet of the Bohemian Forest), and the painter and bookbinder Heinrich Claudi, who worked in Haag around 1900.

Exhibits of the former lignite mining, rural life with tools of extinct craftsmen, as well as the history of the area and the lives of farmers back then can be seen. One can also learn a lot about the time of the Peasants' Wars and about Emperor Napoleon as well.

Additionally, the museum offers a changing special exhibition each year. Children, but also adults, are particularly excited about the accurately recreated rooms in the spacious miniature exhibition.
