Sonderkrankenanstalt und Rehabilitationszentrum Bad Schallerbach

As early as 1924, a health resort was founded by the legal predecessors of the PVA at the Grieskirchner Straße site. In 1971, the facility was rededicated as a rehabilitation center.

The rehabilitation center at Schönauer Straße 45 is located near the city center, adjacent to agricultural areas. It has been in operation since 1998.

In the summer of 2016, the extension with 80 beds was put into operation and officially opened in spring 2017.

There are 192 single rooms and a station with 30 beds available. Approximately 3,600 patients are admitted for treatment each year. Our facility is accessible for people with disabilities.

The Reha-Zentrum Bad Schallerbach specializes in medically vocational orthopedic, neurological, and oncological rehabilitation. It treats, among other things, diseases of the musculoskeletal system, neurological disorders, and oncological diseases. Additionally, the facility offers multimodal pain therapy as well as the special program PV RehaJET® for caregiving and supporting relatives.
In the area of the musculoskeletal system, patients are cared for after joint surgeries, disc and spine surgeries, fractures, as well as in cases of degenerative or inflammatory joint and spinal diseases. The neurological rehabilitation is aimed, among others, at patients after strokes, brain hemorrhages, or brain surgeries, as well as people with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease. The goal is to consider physical, psychological, and social aspects together and prepare the patients as best as possible for their daily lives.
