A Plätten trip on the Salzach shows the city from one of the most beautiful perspectives. In the Middle Ages, the Plätten, the former salt barges, were used to transport the "white gold" from the salt mines of Hallein near Salzburg to Burghausen. After boarding in Tittmoning or Raitenhaslach, you glide gently through the charming landscapes of the Salzach Valley. As you enter Burghausen, an unforgettable scene opens up: the magnificent castle complex towers over the historic old town like a protective fortress.

Special highlights are the musical Plätten, for example with jazz music, harp music or Bavarian "Danzlmusik" and the "Plätten-G`schicht`n" in which a theater actress brings the historical figures of the Salzach shipping to life. The special trips take place on selected dates in addition to the public Plätten trips.
