Farmers' and local history museum

Haigermoos, Oberösterreich, Österreich

As if time had stood still, this rare half-timbered barn serves as a museum. The equipment, tools, and furnishings are complete and intact, just as they once were. If Grandfather were to get up, he could go right back to work.

The museum’s goal is to present the full scope of rural life from past centuries in a single exhibition. Here, “Life in the Countryside” is brought to life in its entirety by the village artisans. The range of exhibits spans from the oldest plowing and harvesting implements, tools, and hemp and flax processing equipment to looms, carriages, sleds, threshing machines, farm chests, and farm cupboards.
