The Hofau forest nature trail in Mattighofen has been inviting visitors to discover nature in a variety of ways since 2001. Along the circular trail, numerous information and adventure stations provide interesting facts about the local flora and fauna as well as the forest ecosystem.

Following its redesign in 2026, the nature trail now features modern display boards, interactive stations, a sound game and the "dancing bear" as a special landmark. An adjacent adventure playground also makes the nature trail an attractive excursion destination for families.

The Hofau forest nature trail is freely accessible all year round and combines nature experience, recreation and environmental education for visitors of all ages.

The nature trail is accessible both on foot and by bike and therefore offers a particularly flexible way to explore nature. The circular trail takes visitors on an exciting journey of discovery through the forest, focusing on numerous plant species, animals and natural features.
A special highlight for families with children is the adventure playground located directly in the forest. Here, young explorers can playfully experience nature, make their own observations and let off steam on a variety of play equipment.
