Tittmoning was granted its town charter in 1242. The magnificent, approximately 300 m
long town square in the Inn-Salzach architectural style with its colorful, monumental-looking rows of houses is a real gem and one of the most beautiful in Bavaria. Romantic old town alleyways, the abbey and monastery churches, fountains, monuments and sculptures will delight you on the circular route. The old town gates and the almost completely preserved medieval town wall still characterize Tittmoning's charm today.

EXTENDED TOUR OF THE OLD TOWN
The circular route takes us through the historic old town with its many monuments, fountains and sculptures to the two main churches worth seeing and then climbs up the Burgberg. The mighty former fortress of the Salzburg archbishops was built to secure the Salzburg-Bavarian border. The tour continues to the baroque pilgrimage church of Maria Ponlach, whose well water has been said to have healing powers for centuries.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE TANNERS
This guided tour focuses on the history of the town and the traditional
