En als je toch vragen hebt, worden ze zeker beantwoord tijdens je bezoek. Kortom - een bezoek aan de KTM Motohall is een absolute must! De reis gaat dan snel verder richting het Salzkammergut, om precies te zijn naar Mattsee aan het gelijknamige meer. Daar wacht het volgende museum: fahr(T)raum - de Ferdinand Porsche Beleveniswerelden. Het interieur van dit nogal onopvallende gebouw heeft ook veel te bieden - in de verschillende belevingswerelden is er een rijk programma met een breed scala aan mogelijkheden, van fantastische tentoonstellingen en hands-on afdelingen tot klassieke autoritten. Ook hier kun je van tevoren veel te weten komen en je goed voorbereiden: Maar we willen niet alleen van museum naar museum toeren, we willen ook genoeg rijplezier hebben. Dat krijgen we op ons volgende traject. We rijden verder via Obertrum naar Seekirchen am Wallersee en via Eugendorf en Reitberg naar Guggenthal. Daar maken we een omweg naar de Gaisberg en genieten van de slingerende beklimming ondanks de snelheidsbeperking. Op de top kunnen we nauwelijks genoeg krijgen van het overweldigende panorama: van de Dachstein over de imposante bergketen van de Oostenrijkse Alpen tot het Roßfeld, de Untersberg en verder het Salzachdal in, kunnen we onze blik laten dwalen; en natuurlijk niet te vergeten het indrukwekkende uitzicht op Salzburg, dat vanaf hier aan onze voeten lijkt te liggen. Kort daarna steken we de Salzach over via de Hellbrunn Bridge en kunnen we onze volgende culturele stop maken bij Paleis Hellbrunn. De toeristische attracties zijn bijna eindeloos, dus het is aan te raden om dit hoogtepunt als aparte excursiebestemming te kiezen. Het is zeker de moeite waard om vooraf meer te weten te komen: We fietsen langs kasteel Glanegg naar Fürstenbrunn en volgen de Romeinse weg het bergbos in aan de voet van de Untersberg naar het noorden. In Großgmain steken we Beieren binnen en fietsen langs Bad Reichenhall naar het noorden. Bij Piding verlaten we de B20 en rijden we richting Traunstein, maar kort na Anger worden we alweer afgeremd in onze voorwaartse vaart: het Hans-Peter Porsche Traumwerk nodigt ons uit voor een bezoek. Ook hier is het uiterlijk indrukwekkend, wat wordt bevestigd door de innerlijke "waarden". Het museum biedt indrukwekkende tentoonstellingen in verschillende focuspunten, variërend van buitengewoon "eenvoudig" blikken speelgoed tot extravagante droomauto's. Ook in dit geval is het een goed idee en de moeite waard om vooraf online informatie in te winnen: Na dit "theoretische" plezier is het weer tijd voor de praktijk: rijplezier op twee wielen is aan de orde van de dag! Teisendorf, Petting en de Waginger See staan op de lijst, net als kasteel Tittmoning. Hier gaan we terug naar Oostenrijk en racen we door het Weilhartforst-bos naar Duttendorf, waar een stop bij het uitkijkpunt een goed idee is. Hier hebben we immers het langste burchtcomplex ter wereld aan de overkant van de Salzach voor ons: burcht Burghausen! We vervolgen de Salzach als een rode draad en volgen hem stroomafwaarts tot hij uitmondt in de Inn en aan de oever Braunau bereikt. Naast het pittoreske historische stadsplein biedt het prachtige barokke stadje ons een groot aantal mogelijkheden om ons te versterken met koffie en gebak of andere lekkernijen voor de laatste "meters" naar Mattighofen. En even later is de cirkel van onze culturele reis rond bij de Motohall aldaar ...
