His characteristic work with glue colors gives the paintings a fascinating depth and velvety texture through fine, glazing layers. The exhibition is complemented by his expressive figures made of terracotta, which skillfully translate this dynamism into space. In an exciting dialogue with this stands the work of Christian Rothwangl (“Dressed as a bear”), who represents a young, innovative understanding of the medium. He transforms intimate ink drawings onto canvas in a poetic process, thus creating complex visual worlds that break with traditional viewing habits.
