Around 150 bands will perform, and numerous highlights are planned once again from the opening on Thursday through Family Sunday. What makes this anniversary edition special: only bands that have previously performed at Woodstock of Brass Music will be playing. A true “best of,” in other words!** ### Nine stages – a diverse program 150 bands on various colorful stages: The "Woodstock der Blasmusik" will take place for the 15th time from July 1 to 4, and numerous highlights await festival guests and day visitors once again this year. Once again, 150 bands will take the stage, and the lineup is already almost entirely available on the website. They’re unique and deeply loved—the many stages and venues across the festival grounds: first and foremost, the Buffet Crampon Main Stage. Then there’s the Allerhand Stage, a tent right in the heart of the main grounds; the Kraut & Ruabm Arena; an impressive Skyliner stage; and no fewer than four barns: The Woodstock Stadel and the Tanzl & Gstanzl Stubm in the Leitner Stadel, Demmelbauer’s Tanzboden at the Big Caravan, and finally the newest stage: the Almstadel. Among the campsites, the Almdudler Sepp a Reh Stage also draws crowds with its impressive stage design set amidst the greenery. ### There’s plenty going on around the festival grounds, too! As is customary at "Woodstock der Blasmusik", the stages are, of course, by no means all there is to discover on the festival grounds. There’s, for example, the festival’s own supermarket, Stockinger’s Kleinkostladen, which supplies festival guests with all the essentials. Buffet Crampon is also there as an instrument manufacturer and exhibitor, and visitors can try out instruments to their heart’s content or experience brass band stars up close at pop-up concerts and meet-and-greets. On Burgenland Friday, the spotlight is on “Austria’s Sunny Side,” and the Burgenland Wine Bar features wines from Burgenland winemakers. The Ferris wheel on the grounds invites you to take in the view; in the beer garden, the Woodfood kitchen serves up tasty treats at any time—from grilled chicken to Alpine kebabs—and the Woodstock merchandise shop, Woodsepp, is also on-site. ### Accommodations If you’d rather stay in a hotel room instead of camping, you can inquire directly with [the Quellenviertel Tourism Association](mailto:info@quellenviertel.at?subject=Anfrage%20Woodstock%20der%20Blasmusik%20via%20quellenviertel.at). ### Family Sunday The Woodstock Family Sunday is also a success story in its own right; even in this anniversary year, the grounds will be transformed into a playground for children and families. The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with a joint church service (featuring musical accompaniment by “The Woodmasters”), followed immediately at 11:00 a.m. by the “Gesamtspielchen,” where children and the young at heart perform with their instruments. The “Kapellchen Gefällt Mir” will also be there: a select youth orchestra formed in collaboration with the Upper Austrian Youth Wind Band Association. Until 4:00 p.m., children’s concerts and a kids’ program will draw visitors to the grounds! In the evening, the grand finale will take place on the Buffet Crampon Main Stage. The Most Important Questions & Answers About the "Woodstock der Blasmusik" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ### ❓ How did the WDB come about? What were the motivations behind it? In 2004, the then-fledgling brass band MaChlast spent an entire weekend rehearsing in St. Martin im Innkreis. It was a musical weekend with a keg or two of beer. “If we’re going to do this, let’s go all out…,” thought the musicians led by Simon Ertl, and they wrapped things up with a small concert at the Hofwirt with about 70 guests. A year later, MaChlast and da Blechhauf’n held a CD release party at the St. Martin riding hall. By 2006, it had already grown into a three-day festival. The first “Bohemian Spring”—featuring MaChlast, da Blechhauf’n, and the Makos brass band. The event grew every year until 2010, reaching a peak of 1,800 guests over three days. This growing interest in brass music then gave rise to the idea of a larger festival. In 2011, the time had finally come, and the first “Woodstock der Blasmusik” took place. ### ❓How did the festival get its name? Woodstock is the mother of all festivals. The term alone is synonymous with “festival.” Combined with brass music, the name actually says it all: an unprecedented festival format featuring all forms of brass music. ### ❓When did the WDB reach its current size, and how many visitors did it start with? It started with about 9,000 guests over four days, back then in Kopfing im Innkreis; most recently, there were 110,000 visitors over four days. ### ❓So far, we’ve had visitors from the following countries: Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, England, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Canada, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Austria, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and the U.S. ### ❓Are there more Germans or Austrians at Woodstock? • Austria 62% • Germany 31% • Switzerland 3% • Netherlands 1% • Italy 1% • Rest of the world 1% ### ❓How does the backstage organization work? And where do the musicians stay? Each stage has its own stage manager who oversees the entire operation. In addition, there is one artist coordinator per stage who takes care of the artists. One person is responsible for the entire backstage area. Accommodations are in nearby hotels and lodging facilities, though sometimes the bands simply camp out, depending on their preferences. ### ❓When does planning for the next WDB begin? After WDB is before WDB. For the anniversary Woodstock in 2027, however, planning started particularly early, and the booking of the bands, for example, was almost complete even before WDB26. ### ❓Does every musician really bring their own instrument? Yes. 99% of the musicians arrive with their instruments; for international artists, backline equipment is occasionally provided, including percussion instruments, amplifiers, guitars, etc. ### ❓Is there a specific age restriction for festivalgoers? No, there’s no specific age restriction for our festival attendees. Everyone is welcome—from 0 to 99 years old.
