Along the water we encountered ducks and swans as well as seagulls. **THE ENKNACH** The origin of the stream, which is unusually privately owned, lies in a small moor on the border between Kirchberg bei Mattighofen and Feldkirchen bei Mattighofen. There, however, it is called Engelbach. At Dietzing (municipality of Neukirchen an der Enknach) it takes on the Fillmannsbach and is then also called the Enknach. After 31 kilometres, it flows into the Inn in the town of Braunau. Due to its natural character and the moors and wet meadows, the Enknach has been designated a nature reserve for 4 km. At Ranshofen (municipality of Braunau), the Enknach also flows through the Buchenwald nature reserve.
