This is documented in our concert series "Besinnlich in den Advent" in the Georgskirche Puchheim, which has been taking place since 1989 on the initiative of the chairman Oskar Aichinger and the director of the orchestra Hans Schiffhuber. The reason for this concert series was, among other things, to offer an alternative and enrichment to the usual popular Advent literature. In addition, we endeavour to present soloists with a professional background in our concerts, as well as offering young artists from the surrounding area the opportunity to perform with orchestral accompaniment. A special development, which we owe to our artistic director, Mr Schifflhuber, is the contact we have maintained to this day with some musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, who played with our orchestra as budding young artists. In addition to the music mentioned above, we also cultivate sacred music and can look back on several high-quality performances of this kind. Our concerts are also particularly enriched by the fact that the chamber orchestra, together with the church choir of the Maria Puchheim Basilica, provides the musical framework for festive church services. Over the last few decades, we have succeeded in inspiring a regular audience, of which we are very proud and to whom we owe a special debt of gratitude.
