 Former ski jump in Ampflwang.

### History:

The Bergmannsschanze was built by the Ampflwang ski club itself in the Lukasberg district shortly after the club was founded in 1952. A ski slope was also built at the same time. The ski jump was located on a piece of forest in Wolfsegg-Traunthaler and was opened on 15 February 1953. Around 1000 spectators attended this first competition.
Just two years later, the ski jump was enlarged to a K-point of 55 metres and thus by 20 metres. The inrun had a length of 57 metres and could be reached from five different positions. In addition to this ski jump, a smaller 30-metre hill was also built, which also made Ampflwang a regionally interesting ski jumping venue. In 1967, the ski club was allowed to organise the Upper Austrian Nordic State Championships and in 1970 even the Austrian Nordic School and Youth State Championships.
However, coal was also being mined in the area of the ski jump at this time, meaning that no more competitions could be organised from 1971 onwards. Due to the encroachments and finally also collapses in the terrain, the end of the ski jumping era in Ampflwang was then sealed.

**All that remains of the original facility is the concrete take-off of the large hill and the steel frame of the inrun tower, the take-off of the small hill and the judges' tower. But even these are gradually being reclaimed by nature, especially the forest.**
