In addition, a series of infantry rifles dating back to 1873 provides an overview of rifled muzzle-loaders, early breech-loaders, and repeating rifles of Austrian, Russian, and Italian design, along with their accompanying bayonets.The star of the collection is a Schwarzlose machine gun from World War I, which is on display for visitors. The Museum at No. 2 even owns a collection of hand grenades and rifle grenades, including Austrian, Italian, and French examples. The exhibition is rounded out by memorabilia from the comrades’ association, medals, and “Highest Decrees” concerning the LIR 2, as well as correspondence from the war and postwar periods.
