However, access to the castle is not on this side, but on the opposite side. WAGRAIN CASTLE: The centre section of the now horseshoe-shaped castle has round towers at its park-side corners. The building has two storeys and a broken hipped roof with a mansard gable. The two hooked wings attached to the side have arbours at ground level, but these are glazed. The entrance to these wings is on the courtyard side, while the entrance to the actual castle building is on the side facing away from the courtyard. The pointed gable, which is raised without a shoulder, contains a clock in its centre. At the laterally advanced corners of the centre wing, there were also round towers protruding from the walls, which had to make way for the lateral extension of the hook-armed wings. The stalls of the two side wings tie into the roof of the centre wing at the height of the lower hip. There is no longer any trace of the gate tower that stood on the site of the current entrance.
