The first documented commander was Peter Habicher. In the first 30 years, since there was no fire station, the equipment was stored in private homes and in the basement of the municipal town hall. In 1921, a fire depot was established for the first time on the site of the current building at Poststraße 1. After that, the fire department moved to the Florianihof. In 1987, the fire department moved to Poststraße 3. From 2016 to 2018, this location was expanded to meet current requirements. Back then, as today, the fire department of Gallspach is responsible for the safety in our community. Compared to earlier times, a much larger range of operations, especially in the technical field, must now be covered. As of 2018, our fire department has 70 members who participate in weekly training exercises and competition drills. Additionally, our firefighters take part in various courses and further training to protect the population as best as possible.
